A Patchwork Christmas by Kristin Eckhardt

I read this book during the Christmas season and this was a good reminder of how many things I have to be thankful for. This book is about Grandparents who have to take in their 3 grandchildren after their mother passes away. The grandparents do not have a lot of money so they have to find ways to make sure the children still have a good Christmas.

Evermore by Alyson Noel

This was a very good book - it reminded me a lot of Twilight. This book is a very easy read and I would recommend it for a vacation book or a good weekend read. Evermore is a great book for people who like Sci-Fi.

Trying to catch up.....

So it has been a very long time since I updated my book blog. I am going to do a bunch of updates now. Thanks for reading............

The Boleyn Inheritance by Philippa Gregory

I just finished this book and it is amazing! It was very hard to get into at first because there are 3 women that are the main charachters and you have to keep up with their story lines. Gregory has an uncanny ability to make you feel what each of these women are feeling when they are feeling it. Whether they be happy, sad, frightened for their lives or the lives of their loved ones, you truly can sympathize with these women. This could be one of Gregory's best novels yet!

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

This was my 4th time reading this book, but for some reason it seemed much more interesting the the other times I read it. HPDH tends to drag for me when I get to the middle, but I did not have that problem this time. There are parts of this book that I love and there are some that I really hate. At the end though, I do end up loving the book.

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince

I am a little behind on my blogging but I read this again for the 5th (I think) time before the new movie came out. It reminded me how much I really love this series. I finished it about 2 weeks before I went to see the movie. By the time I got to the movie, I was about half way through Book 7 so the book did not ruin the movie. I thought the movie was okay. Not great because it was a little boring.

Beach Road by James Patterson

This books has some wonderful twists and turns that will keep you guessing until the end. I purchased this book for my vacation in April, but I never got around to reading it. I just finished it and I would definitely recommend this as a beach read.

The Virgins Lover by Philippa Gregory

I have read many of Gregory's novels and I love his work. The Virgins Lover was not one of his best works, but it was still pretty good. This novel is very long but the story requires many details. If you have never read a Gregory book, I would not start with this one. In my opinion, his best works are The Queen's Fool and The Other Boleyn Girl.

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas by Hunter S Thompson

I have never read this book or seen this movie, so I was not sure what to expect. I have to admit - I don't get what all the fuss is about. The book was okay, but it was really repetitive and kind of boring. I am going to try and watch the movie soon now that I have read the book, and see if I like it better.

Red Lily by Nora Roberts

Red Lily is the third book in this trilogy. I loved it! It tied everything together and left me with no questions at the end of the book. I am not sure that I agree that this story took three books to do the story justice, but it was a very good story. I highly recommend this series (and have to my mom) to anyone looking for an easy read.

Black Rose by Nora Roberts

This is the second book in a trilogy. I really enjoyed the first book once I got into it and Black Rose was really good. The story moved along very quickly and I read it in just a couple of days. I can't wait to read the third book in the series Red Lily.

Little Men by Louisa May Alcott

I read Little Women when I was in Junior High. I thought it was an okay novel, but it was so long. Once the movie came out, I liked the book even less. I thought I would give Little Men a chance though and I really enjoyed it. I loved each of the boys and their quirks. This book was very long though and got a little boring in some parts, but I still suggest it to others.

Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen

Water for Elephants is one of the best books I have read in awhile. It has been sitting on my bookshelf for about 6 months. I kept hearing people talk about it but I did not think I would like it. I recommend this book for everyone to read. I just gave it to my mom but she is having the same reservations that I did. She is going to at least try it as a favor to me :)

The Blue Dahlia by Nora Roberts

I found this book to be a bit of a slow read, but towards the end the action finally picks up. Overall it was an okay book but I have read better by Nora Roberts.
